Security forces in Egypt's restive Sinai Peninsula have been targeted on 01 July in a spate of audacious attacks that analysts said marked an unprecedented tactic by a local Islamic State affiliate. There were conflicting reports about casualties from the synchronized attacks on security checkpoints and military facilities in the town of Sheikh Zuweid in northern Sinai.
